FUNCHICO = Fun, Chic & Cool!

This is Dirty Boxes’ first new release from the “Rockstar Princess” skybox. The original laptop was hotpink to match the decor of the bedroom. These however not only have a variety of colors but new skins on the back, with all sorts of fun designs that’s sure to appeal to a variety of customers.

Each laptop has a total of 6 quality animations within (3ea. for girls & guys), with a screen that changes textures about every minute. Buyers can use the textures and pics that already come loaded in the piece, or they can add their own pics and screenshots of friends, favorite websites, etc.

Bonus Tray & Food w/Purchase

As a bonus, a “Sweets Delight” tray comes along with the piece that includes a cup of steaming coffee, a cupcake and doughnut. It’s adorable and can be placed next to your laptop for realism, on a kitchen counter, or anywhere you’d like to add a little tasty fun πŸ™‚

With all of the colors and designs, there are a total of 40 Funchico Laptops in all! Yes, yes, we know…we were a little excessive but that only means that there are more colors and styles for you to choose from. Of course they couldn’t all be featured here in our blog, but you can check them out on the Second Life Marketplace or in world at the Dirty Boxes store. When visiting Marketplace, you can either navigate to all the styles at the bottom of the screen under ‘related items’ or you can look through the recent items uploaded to the -db- Marketplace store. In world, a holoVendor has been placed near the front entrance for your convenience. You can not only look through the laptops, but you can rez each one to examine it before purchase. If you’d like to see it in a home environment, be sure to rez the “Rockstar Princess” skybox and use the teleporter. There you can play with its animations as they were intended.

It’s finally done. I know I took forever and a day, but I think it was worth it! This is for all the ladies out there that begged for a hotpink skybox…you definitely got your wish πŸ™‚

Hmm, where do I start? Well, this box is basically a playground for ladies (& bois) that love fun, color, & attention to detail. It’s based off of a teen bedroom that I saw in real life and decided that I had to bring it to Second Life. It’s filled with cute animations that will most certainly make you smile. I won’t go into great detail about every little feature of this box.Β  What I will do is share some pics that I had fun taking in this bedroom.Β  If you’d like a run down of what it offers, visit the SL Marketplace where you can get more details and even purchase it if you’re inclined.

If you need a place to hang out with a girlfriend, or would like a place that’s great for taking playful pics, this box is perfect for you. There are gossip and friendship animations on the window seat that are great for sharing secrets πŸ™‚

What a great closet and use of space, eh?Β  This closet would appeal to anyone with diva tendencies or who secretly wants to be a primping princess!

The zebra textured stool contains dainty vanity animations.Β  A brush on the table contains props that a young miss can hold during animations.Β  Our model in the above pic is holding a jar of face cream that looks realistic!

TheΒ  “Besta Bed” & “Funchico Laptop” are full of enough single animations to keep a single girl busy! There are 6 animations in the laptop, three for girls and three for guys. Try them out and discover which ones you like the best πŸ™‚

A cell phone on the desk plays a little song when touched. In addition, it gives the owner a cell phone in their inventory that they can hold during the phone animation.

And don’t worry, didn’t forget you ladies that want to snuggle with your main squeeze. The window seat has a cuddle pose but the bed most importantly has cuddle & make out animations. The bed is modify for those of you that would like your own animations within the bed.

There’s a fun feature with the Rockstar Guitar. The guitar against the wall in the box allows you to do an air guitar animation and gives the owner a guitar in their inventory when touched. The Guitar Chair not only gives you a guitar to wear during the animation, but the chair supports up to 2 additional avatars to sit around the chair and watch while another avatar plays a guitar. Touching the guitar plays a little tune as well.
If you’d like to see this skybox in world to test and play with its features, visit the -db- store. The boxes are located within vendors at each end of the store that can be rezzed for your convenience.

It’s great to see Dirty Boxes being used for one of the things that it was created for, the Role-playing community within Second Life.

Fashion Blogger and Second Life photographer, Bouncer Criss, is the creator and owner of a fashion blog with a twist, Pixel Phasion 4 Men. Not only does he take beautiful and detailed photos of custom content in world and show it off to residents via his blog, but he also does it while adding a fictional storyline with it as well!

This week, Bouncer’s blog featured the final chapter to an ongoing story regarding the infamous “Jason” from the Friday the 13th series, versus Bouncer himself! One of the products highlighted in his blog was Dirty Boxes’ very own “Dirty Ass Kitchen Set” from the “Effed Up Basement” Collection.

This set is perfect for anyone within the RP community looking to create a scene, or for someone into heavy grunge. It includes countertops, fridge, stove, dishwasher and sink. It has objects with animations and sound that residents can interact with. To top it all off, it includes tiny accessories that add realism such as food, garbage bin with trash, and even “Squeaky the Mouse” that’s perched on the sink. Buyers can click him to make him squeak! πŸ™‚

-DB- would like to give a special thanks to Bouncer for his lovely pic and props to our new establishment. Be sure to check out some of his older entries, they’re really interesting, especially “Toushie Tuesdays!”

On a Side Note: The above pic was actually shot in another one of our skyboxes called “Dirty Boyz Locker Room.” We love the cutsie toushy Bouncer! If you guys wanna see this pic uncensored, check Bouncer’s Flickr stream πŸ™‚

So, do you like it?

I’m giving this homeless box away as a promotional gift, hoping it will bring more attention to -db- πŸ™‚ Yes, again with the grunge, I know, but it’s what I’m feeling right now.

I looked at other cardboard boxes for the homeless in Second Life before making this one, and what I noticed was that no one really made anything that you’d actually -want- to hang out in. My goal was to make something affordable, cute enough for girls but manly enough for guys, and definitely something that could be used in the Role Playing community.

It comes with a grungy mattress with unisex poses

a candle to light your way during the darkest hours that actually gives off light and that you can turn on/off

…and a little mouse that squeaks when you touch him. Hope you guys enjoy πŸ™‚

Purchase it in the Second Life Marketplace, and leave a review if you like it.

So as I’ve said before, often times I create things based on what I’ve seen in my first life. This classroom was a memory of my third grade class! It then makes it a little humorous that I added a bit of naughtiness to the decor. πŸ™‚

The classroom has a health theme with posters on the wall dealing in matters such as nutrition, bullies, and of course, sex. Some of the wall art definitely makes one chuckle at it’s take on teen sexuality but believe it or not, some of it is actually educational. I could have made it even more risque than it already is, but for me, it wasn’t about complete and utter sleaze as we often see in Second Life. I wanted it to be tasteful but still fun and entertaining. It’s made in a way that allows the buyer to add or delete to the entire theme as they see fit. Posters can be removed, and chalk boards can be made blank so that users can make their own theme if they’d like.

Have you ever been in a real life class room setting and seen some of the ceiling lights that have been blown out long ago? Well this room has that same feel. If you glance up at the ceiling, you’ll notice how some lights shine bright and others are completely non-existent.

The lights also have a color changing menu that allows you to select the color of the lighting you’ll use. So if you’re in a teaching mode, you can select a normal soft tone, or if you’re in a romantic mood, change it to a racy red if you’re feeling daring.

The student desks have male, female and unisex animations to give the user some variety. The teacher’s desk is basic, traditional, with an apple thrown in for good measure πŸ™‚ You can either sit on or at the desk, or even lie on it if you are so inclined.

In all, the skybox is playful, definitely affordable, and can be used for an array of things. Check it out in world at DIRTY BOXES. Be sure to rez the “Health Class” skybox from one of our vendors and use the transporter nearby to teleport to it. Easy as 1, 2, 3! πŸ™‚

"noTell moTel skybox"

A Grungy Motel Skybox for Second Life

It seems fitting that since this was my very first creation in skyboxes, that this should be my very first entry πŸ™‚

This motel room is actually true to life.Β  It’s one that I’ve seen before in my first life and was never able to erase it from my mind.Β  As a Role Player in Second Life, I would wish someone would be kind enough to make a tiny little get away like this one.Β  There were some out there, but non that fit what it was that I was looking for.Β  So I created this and decided to share with the rest of the community.Β  I got a lot of positive feedback regarding it and decided to keep going with ideas.

When I first started SL, I was more interested in contemporary furnishings.Β  However, during my RPing years, grunge started influencing my taste more and more.Β  I loved the filth and how dark and grungy everything appeared.Β  It now influences a lot of my current creations with DIRTY BOXES.

In this skybox, the floors are stained, the walls damaged, and the furniture a little run-down.Β  It’s crappy in a chic way with it’s bordered up windows, broken television and nasty bath that’s attached.Β  A resident in world by the name of Jackson Sharple contacted me with the following comment:

“It’s perfect. The ideal amount of sleaze I was going for. Heh. The low amount of prims allows me to put in my own poses, as well. Just wanted to say thank you for a job well done.”

The lighting is scripted with color variations and there are male/female/couple animations in the furniture.Β  Visit DIRTY BOXES in world to view the entire skybox up close and personal πŸ™‚
