After seeing this skybox, a friend asked me what made me create such a nasty hole in the wall. Believe it or not, I used to role play with a guy who shall remain nameless, that told me he lived in his parents basement while playing video games and gaming in Second Life. In my mind, I always imagined him in a place like this, so I decided to create it! 🙂

This box was created with the roleplayer in mind, with attention to detail. There’s lots for the user to interact with…working lights, sounds, animations for appliances and furniture…even running water and a working microwave!
I tried to be mindful of prims, but I didn’t want to be stingy with the build.

This basement is the epitome of grunge. It’s the largest build that I’ve done so far with four fully furnished rooms. The box has a realistic feel, with filthy wall and floor textures, you can almost smell the mold and feel the dankness in the air.

As great as this box is, there will always be some that don’t want the entire box, but like individual pieces from the box. With that in mind, there are sets and pieces available to buyers on the Second Life Marketplace.

There’s only so much that pictures can show and trust me, there’s much more to see. Visit the Second Life Marketplace for more pics and details about the skybox, or even make a trip in world to DIRTY BOXES to see the box in person. It is conveniently located at the front entrance of the store. Use the teleporter underneath the promo pic to transport yourself into a world of pure grunge 🙂 Squeaky the Mouse says, “It’s well worth the visit!”

This grungy hangout is a perfect compliment to the FREE Homeless Box from -db- and is great for anyone looking to have a little fun with their friends.

I created this with more than just a couple of poses because I often see Fire Barrels in world, and most of them are just for a couple of people. Testing this with my friends, I found out you can get at least seven people on this hangout piece at once! I can just see it now, a bunch of SLFers role playing as bums, hanging out around the old barrel talking about the good old times.

There are eight animations all together, six for singles and one couple pose. You can either roast marshmallows around the fire

or use my personal favorite, THE RATS! 😮 Yes, I know, but don’t ask!

Go to the back alley of the DIRTY BOXES store in world to see it up close and play with for awhile.

So, do you like it?

I’m giving this homeless box away as a promotional gift, hoping it will bring more attention to -db- 🙂 Yes, again with the grunge, I know, but it’s what I’m feeling right now.

I looked at other cardboard boxes for the homeless in Second Life before making this one, and what I noticed was that no one really made anything that you’d actually -want- to hang out in. My goal was to make something affordable, cute enough for girls but manly enough for guys, and definitely something that could be used in the Role Playing community.

It comes with a grungy mattress with unisex poses

a candle to light your way during the darkest hours that actually gives off light and that you can turn on/off

…and a little mouse that squeaks when you touch him. Hope you guys enjoy 🙂
